To build a vibrant, inclusive, and enduring national platform to empower Canadian business research students in their PhD Journey by enabling them to support each other, collaborate, and co-create interdisciplinary knowledge.
CCBRS Mission
The Canadian Conference for Business Research Students (CCBRS) exists to:
- Strengthen Canada’s academic fabric by uniting PhD scholars in a uniquely Canadian academic setting rooted in collaboration, diversity, inclusion and research excellence.
- Foster a national community by enabling cross-institutional dialogue among PhD scholars across Canadian business schools, enabling meaningful academic exchange and collaboration.
- Create a support system to help PhD scholars in navigating their PhD journey.
- Create Peer-to-Peer support network to enable scholars and enhance quality of scholarship.
- Promote interdisciplinary thinking by providing a space where emerging researchers from all business domains can explore shared challenges and innovative solutions.
- Offer mentorship opportunities in interdisciplinary research domains.
- Enable impactful networking that leads to co-authorships, cross-institutional projects, and long-term scholarly partnerships.
- Celebrate student leadership by providing opportunities for PhD students to spearhead initiatives.
- Provide an annual thematic platform that addresses contemporary issues (like AI, sustainability, equity, etc.) to anchor discussions and drive relevant, cutting-edge business research.
