This Year’s Topic

Resilience in Uncertain Times: New Frontiers in Business Research

As organizations operate in an increasingly volatile and complex environment, resilience has emerged as a critical capability for navigating uncertainty and sustaining long-term success. The theme “Resilience in Uncertain Times: New Frontiers in Business Research” invites Canada’s business PhD students to explore how organizations, industries, and institutions can anticipate disruptions, adapt to changing conditions, and transform in the face of ongoing challenges. From geopolitical tensions and climate-related risks to rapid technological change and global supply chain disruptions, today’s business landscape demands new ways of thinking about resilience across all areas of business research. This conference encourages participants to examine these challenges from diverse disciplinary perspectives, including strategy, finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, information systems, human resources, and operations.

More than a topic of discussion, this theme reflects a broader vision of advancing research that helps organizations navigate uncertainty while fostering innovation and adaptability. The conference will bring together PhD students from business schools across Canada to engage in meaningful scholarly dialogue, exchange ideas, and explore emerging research directions that address the complexities of today’s business environment. By creating a collaborative and supportive platform, the conference aims to inspire new insights, encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, and contribute to shaping the next generation of business research in an era where resilience is increasingly essential.

Compete and Win a Prize for your Research

As part of CCBRS 2026, we invite research students to participate in our Poster Competition, an opportunity to visually present innovative business research and engage with scholars from diverse disciplines. Poster submissions should preferably align with this year’s theme, “Resilience in Uncertain Times: New Frontiers in Business Research,” and showcase original research that advances our understanding of how systems anticipate, adapt to, and navigate disruption. We welcome contributions from across all areas of business research, including strategy, operations, information systems, finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, and organizational behavior.
