AI Horizons: Shaping the Future of Business Research Collaboration

As the business world rapidly evolves under the influence of artificial intelligence, “AI Horizons” invites Canada’s business PhD students to explore the cutting edge of this transformation. This year’s conference theme challenges participants to critically examine how AI is reshaping theories, methodologies, and practices across every domain of business research—from finance and marketing to strategy, human resources, and operations. Whether you’re developing models using machine learning, exploring AI’s impact on consumer behavior, or studying algorithmic governance in organizations, this conference offers a collaborative platform to discuss, test, and enrich your ideas in a supportive scholarly environment.

More than just a theme, AI Horizons symbolizes our broader vision: expanding the boundaries of what’s possible when interdisciplinary collaboration meets technological innovation. The 2025 conference will bring together PhD students from across Canadian business schools to engage in meaningful dialogue, forge co-authorships, and explore novel research directions at the intersection of business and artificial intelligence. This is your opportunity to connect with future academic leaders, share insights, and contribute to shaping the future of business research in an AI-driven world. Poster Presentation

Compete and Win a Prize for your Research

As part of CCBRS 2025, we invite research students to participate in our Poster Competition, a unique opportunity to visually showcase cutting-edge work at the intersection of artificial intelligence and business research. Poster submissions should align with this year’s theme, AI Horizons: Shaping the Future of Business Research Collaboration, and reflect original, thoughtful contributions that push the boundaries of interdisciplinary research. Whether your work explores AI in marketing analytics, organizational behavior, financial forecasting, or cross-functional innovation, we welcome compelling visual presentations that spark conversation and insight.

Workshop

Building Skills and Networks with Your Peers

At the heart of CCBRS 2025 is a commitment to fostering meaningful academic connections—and this workshop does exactly that. Building Skills and Networks with Your Tiers is an interactive, field-specific networking event where participants will be grouped with peers from similar or adjacent business research areas. Together, these “Tiers” will collaborate to co-develop an original interdisciplinary research idea and submit a brief abstract by the end of the session. This is more than just a networking activity—it’s a chance to combine perspectives, share methodologies, and explore new research frontiers in real time.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage deeply with fellow scholars who understand the nuances of their field while being encouraged to think beyond traditional disciplinary boundaries. The most promising collaborative proposal will be selected by a panel of faculty mentors and awarded a special prize during the conference. Whether you’re looking for future co-authors, brainstorming inspiration, or a creative research challenge, this workshop is designed to ignite collaboration and give you a practical takeaway from your networking experience. Come ready to connect, create, and contribute!
